A Letter from the Prayer Couple Coordinators detailing Prayer Couple Responsibilities can be found HERE
What is the Mission of a prayer couple?
As Encountered Couples we are called to a constant journey toward intimacy and unity in our relationship. We will never arrive, and cannot travel alone. We need the love and support of other with similar values to journey with us. The Prayer Couple, who are praying and sacrificing, not only for the intention of the Weekend, but for a special couple in particular, are also called to share their journey with others after the Weekend.
What are the Responsibilities of a Prayer Couple?
©This ministry is important to the newly Encountered couples and priests. Their prayer couple is their first introduction to Community. They are a “bridge” into the dialogue support system we offer to any couple or priest.
©Write a prayer letter to the assigned couple/priest. Tell them in the letter that you are praying for them. On the front of the envelope the couple’s names should appear and a “P” should be put in the upper right corner. On the back of the envelope you should write your names AND YOUR PHONE NUMBER.
©At least one week in advance your letter should be mailed to the Prayer Couple Coordinators: Mark and Liz Bowling. If you cannot mail the letter on time, or if you so desire you may drop the letter off at the hotel in person. Please notify the Bowlings of your intentions of dropping the letter off by calling them at 630-579-1634
©Pray for your couple/priest starting with the time you get their name and throughout the weekend.
©Discuss sacrifices you can make during the Weekend to remind you of your couple/priest.
©Meet with the other prayer couples no later than 3:30pm on Sunday.
©Encourage your couple to attend the Reunion after the Weekend and invite them to attend Community.
